Week of 7/18/2016 Update on the Build
Wow! A lot got done while I was gone on vacation. I think you all will see from the pictures that there has been a lot going on inside the walls. Also, I'm sure you have been able to see the walls going up as you have driven by every day. I went to the construction meeting yesterday and was told everything is still on schedule to move in around Spring Break. As far as where they are currently, the first floor should be completely covered by the end of next week. Their goal is to have the roof on before the weather gets yucky.
For the first photo, it is actually a video tour led by Mr. Nelson as he goes up the stairs on the north side. You can tell that the heights make him a little queasy. Heights don't do good things to him. :)
The rest of the pictures are from yesterday's walkthrough. Have a great week everyone!

Update 6/15/16
A lot has happened since the last update. I have loads of pictures and a few video clips. They are still on schedule. They have mason, cement, plumbing, metal, electrical workers all working at the same time in order to make deadlines. They are hoping to have it all roofed by winter so they won't have to winterize anything. Here are the pictures and video clips. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
And here are the most current photos over the past two weeks.

5/4/16 Update
Hello Grovecrest Community,
May the Fourth be with you!
We have had some amazing progress on the new building in the past few weeks. You will see that the east retaining wall is nearly complete. When the school is done, this big wall will be the back of the stage in our gymacafetorium (gym, cafeteria, auditorium combined). We have the outside brick and mortar color schemes available for you to look at in picture. You will also notice that this week, the scaffolding for building the outer walls will start going up.
Your pictures for this week are thanks to Principal Scarlett, our principal for the day on Monday. I gave her an ipad and Mr. Nelson and I took her out on the construction site. The construction manager taught her something about how they measure distances using a space satellite feed. All the while, she was taking pictures. We all hope you enjoy them.

Update 4/14/2016
Thursday during the construction meeting, our builders told us that we are ahead of schedule. Last week you noticed as you walked or drove by, cement trucks pouring the foundation. The foundation was finished Thursday! Yippee!! Also, it was confirmed that masonry and brick work will begin the first week of May.

The Latest
Hi all. Hope you all enjoyed Spring break. Our construction team worked throughout the week. As you walk or drive by, you will see rebar and cement. I have word from the supervisor that the brick laying will start around May 2nd. We are so excited about that. They are a little ahead of schedule. That is also good news. We will have more information after our meeting with them today at 1:30. Also for your information, we have plans up in our office window so you can see what the school will look like on the inside.
